“The General Data Protection Regulation leaves wide room for interpretation – and intellectual property law is in a continuous state of flux. Success in these areas requires not only knowledge of the regulations, but also the ability to anticipate policy developments and the underlying technique.”
Helena advises and litigates in the field of intellectual property law, focusing on copyright law, trademark law, online content and digital platforms. Helena is also an expert in drawing up contracts in these areas. She furthermore advises clients on a wide range of privacy issues, such as the processing of personal data using new techniques, and contracting with data and access requests. Helena can also assist you in the event of a data breach at your company (or at your contracting party).
Helena’s added value is her ability to transcend the boundaries of specific areas of the law. Her experience as a lawyer in the international litigation and consultancy practice and as an in-house lawyer allows her to be alert to her client’s needs and to suggest sustainable solutions.
Helen studied law at the University of Leiden and the University of Amsterdam, and spent one year at the University of Oxford. She started her career as a lawyer in Stibbe’s general litigation and consultancy practice. She has also worked as in-house lawyer for the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. Helen joined Köster in 2018. She is currently taking the Mr. S.K. Martens specialist course, a course aimed at the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in commercial practice.
