An appeal to the Supreme Court (also known as cassation) may be lodged against a judgment, ruling or court order passed by a lower court. This is a specialist area of the law. Our Cassation Team advises and represents clients at all stages of the proceedings. If you are considering filing an appeal with the Supreme Court, we can carry out a “quick scan” to make an initial estimate of the chances of the judgment being set aside.
If we recommend filing an appeal in cassation and you decide to do so, our Cassation Team will handle the case before the Supreme Court. It goes without saying that this is done in close consultation with the lawyer who assisted you in the fact-finding instances. We can also help you file an appeal with the Court of Appeal or request it to issue a preliminary ruling.
