Suzanne Elzinga

Working with ambitious entrepreneurs and the dynamics that come with it make corporate law interesting for me. In corporate law, no day is the same and you constantly have to come up with creative solutions.

Suzanne specialises in corporate law, working within both the Corporate Litigation team and the Corporate M&A team. Before joining Köster, Suzanne worked for a total of two years at NautaDutilh in the Corporate M&A, Business Development and Board Advice departments. It was here, among others, that Suzanne developed her passion for corporate law.

The two different expertises Corporate Litigation and Corporate M&A fit well together Suzanne notices. “Litigation regularly arises over the interpretation of an exit arrangement in a shareholders’ agreement. Because of my M&A work, I know very well what such a provision entails and where litigation opportunities may lie. On the other hand, through my experience within Corporate Litigation, I know which parts in a shareholders’ agreement often give rise to proceedings and how the risk of this can be reduced by making proper arrangements.” The alternation between resolving conflicts between shareholders on the one hand and advising entrepreneurs when starting, growing or selling their businesses on the other makes my work interesting and challenging for me.

Suzanne has worked at Köster since 2021 after obtaining her master’s degree in corporate law from Erasmus University Rotterdam in the same year. Suzanne is a member of the Corporate Litigation Association and the Young M&A Community.
